We have noticed that our goos have a sticky eye going around. We have noticed and bathed 4 eyes this week. Once it has been cleaned the eye seems to be fine so I'm thinking its just a bacterial infection that clears up quite quickly. Is it worth the stress of a vet trip or should we just bathe them and let it die out when it runs out of goos?

No experience here, either. At least you are having success with what you are doing.

If it's a one off for each eye then it's probably OK to keep an eye on it, if you get the same eye repeatedly sticking then I would consult the vet.
Is there anything new or different that could be an irritant?

We got them a different brand of hay this time round because the shop didn't have the normal brand but did make sure it was dust extracted and they seem to be happily munching on it.

OK, there's a slight chance it could be related to something in the different hay.

Well unfortunately Sleepy has picked up the eye problem but for some reason can't seem to shake it off on her own like the others did. Tempted to give the vet a ring and see if we can get her some antibiotics without having to stress her out by taking her in. What are the chances that the vet will prescribe without seeing her?

If they are familiar with the eye infection, I should think there is a possibility, but I wouldn't guarantee it.
