Totally not alone. All three of our boys keep their feet naked, and I don't know why. They have great cages to live in with lots of room, good food, company, wheels, etc. and still they keep their feet naked. I've stopped worrying about it by now, though I did for a long time.

Wonder if it is something with hormones, like a frustration of not being able to breed?
Anyone have a neutered degu that stills does this?

We have a female that does it and she is in a cage with a neutered male and another female so unless she can tell he has been neutered I don't think that is her reason

Bodies are made to breed .... Weird things happen when the body isn't able to breed like its suppose too. Ferrets for examples the female can die if they go into heat and are not bred - they get severe anemia and unable to recover.
Think of all the weird symptoms us girls get with PMS, cysts, endometriosis etc because of years of ovulating with no pregnancies, it's hard on your bodies.
I can see females and males if they are not allowed to breed having weird behavioural issues directly related to it - thus very interesting in seeing how common it is in neutered males ......
