Hello all.
I hope you're enjoying Spring. l have a poorly degu in the form of Houdini who is not putting weight on her rear hind leg.
l had a good feel and couldn't feel a break or a dislocation but there was something "not right". Went to the vet yesterday, vet also had a really good feel around and agreed that there was something amiss but there is definitely no break or dislocation and she has full movement when manipulated.
She's so sorry for herself. Dosed up on metacam and oats at the moment (although she has started to refuse the yoghurt drops I usually put metacam on. Peanut was used this morning!)
l hope she will pull through- she is not herself.
Just wanted to vent I suppose! Thank you for all your advice in previous years.

Have you any idea what might have happened? Is there a possibility of any other injuries? I ask because I wouldn't normally expect a degu to be acting so out of sorts just from a leg injury that you would be worried for her life. Certainly a less confident degu might seem out of sorts and more fearful for a couple of days though.
Is she eating OK?
Has she got plenty of hiding places? She might appreciate a couple of extra boxes as she won't be able to make as quick a getaway as usual, and this can bother a more nervous degu.
What dose of metacam is she on?
