I have to take one of my goos there monthly to have teeth trimmed & they have also neutered 2 of my boys. Find them very good & most importantly really caring & gentle.

Vet: Lance Jepson Website: www.vet4dragons.co.uk/ - although not up to date with all the surgeries he currently does. He had trimmed my goos pre-molars without putting them under. He has a lot of knowledge about chins and a keen interest in them. He is also great for other small furries and has seen my rats and rabbit. I have taken mine to
468, Street Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS17 6HA 0113 236 9030
There is a Vet there Called Sarah who is an exotic vet and has kept Degus herself. She seemed to know her stuff. She castrated my boys and altho Diego was still v quiet when i left for work this am they both seemed to have nice neat wounds and a good job done.
(Deigo may be going back this eve, i'll be checking on him at lunch)

Rose Cottage Veterinary Centre Chester Road, Sutton Weaver Runcorn, Cheshire 01928 717581
has treated one of my degu's - unfortunately she passed away due to the first vet(my old vet) not treating her right
they have also just neutered my chinchilla, Miguel and it went all very well
The care and attention is excellent as is their knowledge. Prices seems to be very good as well

Norway:
We just used Volvat in Skøyen, Oslo. They treated Garak for his long teeth without anastecia (sp?), and gave us good treatment. Reccomended!

I've taken my boys to Coastway Vets in the Brighton and Hove area twice now - they have a vet called Guy who specialises in 'exotics' who normally works at the Portslade branch but does a couple of days at my local branch in Kemp Town too. They also have an emergency vet nurse 24 hours a day who was really helpful when I needed advice yesterday and nowhere was open. www.coastwayvets.co.uk/local-vets/He's not cheap mind - both times I've been for Gin's chest infection and it's about £45 for the consultation and antibiotics : | If anyone knows anyone else local who knows degus but charges reasonable prices I would love to know!

If your degu/chinchillais already under the care of another vet you can go to them for a second opinion (i.e. you then become their client) or you can go as a referral case (in which case you go back to your vet after treatment), the latter needs your vet to refer you to them but means that if your own vet needs help dignosing a problem with your vet, you and they can get expertise help from Neil and his team who are really lovely people. They are also happy to provide clinical advice, interpret radiographs and laboratory results for colleagues in other veterinary practices as they genuinely want to help save lives and prevent suffering. Their practice is very good too its a tier 3 RCVS accredited veterinary hospital, providing ventilated, disease control bird hospital accommodation with a vet and nurse on site 24 hours a day, and full on site laboratory services for birds and other exotic pets. Services include endoscopy, microsurgery, MRI and CT Scanning, fluroscopy, identichips etc. There is more information on their referral service here www.gwexotics.com/services/vet-referrals.shtml
