So I have 4 cages in my room at the moment and they are taking up a stupid amount of room because of their sizing and the fact they don't fit perfectly to make a jigsaw like piece in my room.
As I am getting somewhere with my girls I am hoping to get it down to three cages - sell the extra one or just get rid of it. So was sitting on my bed and my boyfriend and I have come up with a "cage" that is big enough to split into three but then remove areas as I decrease my number of animals. Basically it's gonna be really quite big, all the animals will have more space then they so now and it will be more accessible and easier to clean out.
However we seem to be having an issue with finding wood! B&Q seem to be out of it all around here and don't deliver sheets of wood. We looked at getting an old wardrobe/cabinet but they just aren't big enough and would end up being more expensive so we were wondering if anyone has any ideas on where else may sell large sheets of wood? We were looking at pine plywood to make the cage out of, we were then going to get a large amount of pine to add in on the area's they would chew.
Also we were wondering the best ways of attaching and locking the doors on it? The doors are going to be a wooden frame with mesh on them because it's the cheaper way to get the four doors!
The cage layout will be like this from the front:
That shows you how it's going to be partitioned into the three cages. Our issues are the bottom doors as there has to be two, not sure how we going to fix them onto each other without there being a chance of the boys breaking free!
